"I was looking for a cheap, clean hotel near the Ostbahnhof (East Railway Station). This hotel met this criterion very well. I was aware of the special ambiance before.

"Guests under 20 would get an incorrect picture of the East German way of life; for guests over 40, it is a welcome reminder with many “ahaa”-experiences, too bad that you can only see your own room. Some photos of the other rooms would be nice. Perhaps a "wall of memories” at the registration? We have often laughed heartily at the memories the furniture, radio, flower vases, etc. brought back and compared it all to our current time. And breakfast in the GDR-atmosphere in front of the Palace of the Republic was impressive! "
